Biography
Laurie represents employers and employees from the pre-lawsuit, agency-level and lawsuit stages in federal and state employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation cases, including those involving sex, race, disability, pregnancy, national origin, religion, and age. She also handles labor cases under the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Florida Whistleblower Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Laurie has experience in drafting and negotiating employment agreements, equity agreements, restrictive covenants, handbooks, and severance agreements.
Prior to joining Cadogan Law, Laurie worked at a Florida business law firm, where she focused on commercial litigation including disputes relating to breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud claims. She also worked at a top global labor and employment law firm.
She has represented businesses and individuals spanning a range of sectors, including hospitality, healthcare, banking, and consumer goods and services.
